Girls enjoy Songwriting Workshop

SongwritingDuring Donaldson Week, MIV (Year 8) pupils participated in a Songwriting Workshop: singer/songwriter Rich Cottell visited the school to help the girls create a song of their own, based around the theme of diversity.  They also got some top tips for working in the music industry.

Rich is a singer/songwriter from Devon; describing his music as ‘feel-good Indie pop’, Rich’s personality was a perfect match for his music. He has supported some major artists including The Wanted and Olly Murs. The girls learnt how to construct catchy lyrics, and select chord sequences to transform the written word into the art form of song. The result sounded amazing, and everyone joined in for the final performance at the end of the morning.
