The annual June Jamboree at Daunstey's School was the last meet event of the season and, once again, the girls did not disappoint with their performances, especially given the heat.
We had some good performances across the board, with several wins and 2nd places in many events. Emma won the 100m with a time of 12.7 seconds, whilst many of the others recorded commendable times and distances; 2.41.7 for Susannah and Fenella in the 800m, 15.1s for Tally in the 100m, 14.7s for Flo in the Hurdles, 15.2s for Susannah in the Hurdles. In the field events, Abby scored a personal best in Shot with a distance of 8.3m, Lily and Megan threw 17m and 16m in the Discus, whilst Maggie and Mia measured some good throws in the Javelin - 23m and 21m. In the final event, the 4 x 100m, we put in a great performance, coming in a very commendable 2nd place with a storming final leg from Emma. This has been a fantastic term for the team, with every member performing extremely well in every single meet and match we have had. Very well done to the whole team.

We sent a strong combined U12 and U13 Team to Dauntsey’s. There were a number of personal bests on the grass track against strong schools. Jemima ran a personal best in the 100m (13.7) for 1st place and 75m Hurdles (13.7) for 3rd place. Sandy also produced a personal best in the 100m (15.0) and won the Shot putt with one of her best throws of the season (9m 04). Indie and Kitty both ran strongly in the 200m to be placed 2nd and 5th. In tough conditions, Lily and Katie ran strongly in the 800m - Katie gained a personal best of 3 minutes 13, Lily was just outside 3 minutes. Saskia has been jumping confidently all year and won the High Jump with 1m 35. Kitty was feeling unwell, but still managed to clear 1m 15 to score valuable points. In a tightly contested Long Jump competition, Indie was placed joint 2nd with 4m 30 and Jemima 4th (4m 14).
Anna has been a consistent performer this season, she finished 2nd in Javelin, throwing over 20 metres consistently and she won the Discus competition with 17m 03. Rosie achieved a personal best with her Javelin throw of 15m 90. The final event was the 4 x 100m relay; our 1st and 2nd changeovers could have been better, but we executed the final changeover brilliantly and Jemima stormed through to 2nd place.
It was a fantastic team effort from everyone - well done!
