On 16th October, the Intermediate and Junior Cross-Country Teams competed in the English Schools' Athletic Association (ESAA) Schools Cup, held in Tavistock.

Intermediate Girls
The intermediate Cross-Country Team all produced a huge effort for the first round of the ESAA Schools Cup. The well-known course at Tavistock includes one very large lap around the playing fields, before going up and over a hill above a large cornfield. Lara ran an excellent race, keeping up with the front runners to finish 5th. Lily and Jemima did very well to finish 14th and 16th a year young for the age group, while Olivia overcame considerable pre-race nerves to run this course for the first time. The team just missed out on going through to the Regionals by four points.

Junior Girls
The cross country course at Tavistock can be very daunting for those running for the school for the first time. However, every athlete can feel proud of their huge effort and determination in a very strong field in this first round of the ESAA Schools Cup. Eva-Rose ran a superb race to finish 6th with Dora close behind in 10th. St Mary's finished in 4th place.

Well done to all the girls.
