Charity Week 2011
Charity Week took place from the 7th - 13th February 2011, and all the girls worked very hard to raise £1680 over four days. £840 of this money will go to the school’s charity The Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the rest will go to the nominated House charities.
Thursday saw the girls in 'St Trinian's' mufti. On Saturday, both Sixth Form Houses were transformed into cinemas and the girls had a choice of different films to watch and a selection of tuck to buy. Sunday was our busy day, chapel was followed by brunch and a boogie at St P's, with the chance to buy yummy sausage sandwiches, dance to your favourite song and take part in the raffle. School House then opened their doors for an 'Alice in Wonderland' fête complete with a croquet corridor! LIV Form and staff all dressed up and there were lots of stalls to tempt you to spend your money. Gibbins transformed itself into The 'Harry Potter' Café, again the girls dressed up, this time as death eaters and house elves, and served up 18 loaves of toasted sandwiches and lots of yummy cakes. St C's put up the stocks and sold soaking sponges and buckets of water to throw at obliging staff, and many came out in the rain to support them. The day ended in Mews at the Space themed Diner. The common room was transformed with lots of glitter and tin foil and they offered space punch, cakes, sweets and by far the favourite - a chocolate fountain.
The whole week was great fun and the girls really threw themselves into supporting each other's events. Many thanks also to all the staff who took part and helped out.
