Jonny Wilkes Wows Audience with Sensational Performance 

      - Spectacular Swing Night in Aid of The 2012 Sports Hall Fund on Saturday 25th February-

This was a night to remember - a sensational night of great music, fun and dance when the entertainment was truly spectacular, led by Jonny Wilkes (of legendary West End fame) with his awesome Well Swung Band!

The Delscey Burns Theatre was transformed into a great night club with electric atmosphere and crowded dance floor. One guest wrote that it was, “The best school event I’ve ever been to!” Others that it was “A resounding success!” ”  Amazing!”   “Outstanding!” This was just some of the praise generated by Saturday’s fantastic Evening of Swing, so generously donated in aid of The 2012 Sports Hall Fund, by St Margaret’s Parent, Jonny Wilkes.

165 guests, made up of St Mary’s and St Margaret’s parents, their friends, members of the Head Girls Teams from the Sixth Form and volunteer staff, were treated to the most exceptional night of musical entertainment.  Three of LVI Form Girls sang duets with Jonny, and St Margaret's Deputy Head, Miss Cath Jones and St Mary's Drama Director, Miss Lilian Leadbetter, had songs dedicated to them. (They will never be the same again!) The atmosphere was amazing, as parents and girls all danced under mirror balls and stage lighting to the incredible music. The Parents Guilds from both schools kindly provided the most delicious canapés, while the wine and champagne flowed freely and a truly memorable night went down in school history.

After it was all over, everyone was in agreement - we all love Jonny! And we can't wait to take up his offer of more great events in future!!! Tickets will be at a premium - so next time - make your reservations fast!
