Westminster Abbey Evensong
The Chamber Choir began the term in splendid fashion on Monday by singing Evensong in Westminster Abbey. This stunning, and of course famous venue, steeped in national, royal and musical history was a hugely inspiring setting for the first venture of the summer, and a huge congregation packed into the Quire to hear music by Schubert, Bednall and Archer.
In between intense rehearsals, the girls enjoyed a tour of the Houses of Parliament kindly arranged by Claire Perry, Member of Parliament for Devizes. After the service, the girls enjoyed a well-earned pizza while their parents repaired to a busy Portcullis House - our drinks reception enjoying equal billing with events hosted by David Milliband and John Bercow. It was a thoroughly memorable day all round.
