On Saturday 22nd June, the UVI Form leavers enjoyed their art deco themed Lily Ball.
Artist in Residence, Miss Davis, taught some MIV Form girls how to manipulate ex-library books into works of art, in order to enter this years’ ‘Recycle an ex-library book' competition run by Bath Library.
On Tuesday 25th June, our History of Art class of five students, set off on an exciting adventure to Bath.
On Wednesday 26th June, 58 LV and LVI Form Geographers set forth on their Geography fieldtrip to Iceland.
This year's junior play was Junior Jane Austen - an amalgamation of four of Jane Austen’s finest novels, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey.
After a fantastic athletics season, the Junior Girls finished with another excellent performance at Dauntsey's annual June Jamboree athletics meet on Wednesday, 26th June. Spurred on by the lovely weather and relaxed nature of the event, all of the girls competed strongly against Dauntsey's, Godolphin, Devizes and Lavington.
One of our current UIV Form girls, Felicity, has begun training for a Channel Relay Swim which is planned to take place next summer. She will be raising money for Diabetes UK and further information about sponsorship will be available closer to the swim.
Dressed in appropriate costumes, St Mary's entered two plays for the Latin Play Competition held at Redland High School on Tuesday 25th June.
A big congratulations to the UVI Form students who successfully completed the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA)/St Mary’s Calne Communications Course for 2012-13.
As part of Enrichment week the MIV Form travelled to the Dorset Coast to carry out Geography Coastal Fieldwork; consolidating work completed in the classroom.
On the morning of Saturday 22nd June, the whole school community gathered in the parish church of St Mary’s Calne for the annual Founders’ Day Commemoration Service. This year, we celebrated 140 years since the school’s foundation and we were delighted to be joined by Professor Julia Buckingham to give the address.
Following their success at the County Final, on Monday 24th June six members of ‘Got It Covered’, St Mary’s School’s Young Enterprise company, went to the Wills Memorial Building at Bristol University to take part in the South West Final.
