SW Lacrosse Tournament Runners-Up!

The U15s had an excellent day at the SW Tournament. They won all their matches in the morning to be placed in the Premiership in the afternoon.

Medals at the British Schoolgirls' Ski Races, Flaine

The British Schoolgirls' Ski Races seem to come around so quickly every year. We set off for Flaine on the morning of 23rd January, with our relatively inexperienced young race team, with only two of the seven having raced before.

Girls win Public Speaking Competition

On Wednesday 28th January, St Mary’s took part in the English Speaking Union’s Public Speaking Competition. It was the first time that we had entered this prestigious event and, after several weeks of learning the rules of the competition and practising in their different roles of Speaker, Chair and Questioner, Jessica, Athina and Alice travelled to Stonar School to compete.

On Saturday evening a group of Sixth Form girls enjoyed an evening at Radley College's annual Caledonian Ball. The girls were treated to a Champagne Reception, followed by a delicious supper and Scotting Reeling.

Girls are 'Super Heroes' at Company Supper

It was the red carpet event of the Moberly Company year on Wednesday night (21st January). The theme of the supper was Super Heroes, and, after their win in the inaugural inter-Company quiz, they are indeed the super heroes!

Drama students see 'Noises Off' at Bath's Mission Theatre

On 19th January, the Fifth and Sixth Form Drama students went to support a local theatre company in Bath at the Mission Theatre. We saw Michael Frayn’s farce Noises Off, a play about a theatre company’s struggle to stage their latest comedy.

Inaugural Company Quiz Challenge gets off to a flying start

On Wednesday 21st January, Chapel was full for the first round of the inaugural Company Quiz Challenge, modelled on the TV programme University Challenge, with Mr Trowbridge as quiz master, giving a passable impression of Jeremy Paxman!
