Last week, St Mary's Calne pupils participated in Calne's first ever Christmas Tree Festival and the girls created some amazing decorations for the tree.
The Christmas Tree Festival coincided with the Christmas Festival on 28th November, held in St Mary’s Church, Calne - a real focal point for the community.
The Festival is run by the Friends of St Mary’s Church (FOSM), a charity dedicated to maintaining and improving the fabric of St Mary’s Church (the only Grade 1 listed building in Calne). The cost of entering the Festival to decorate a tree went towards FOSM funds to update the lighting in the church. The Christmas trees in the church, which are decorated by different clubs, schools and organisations, are then available for visitors to view, who can then vote for their favourite.
The tree looked wonderful in the church, showcasing some beautiful golden butterfly decorations made by the girls. Very many congratulations to all the Fourth Form pupils who worked so hard.
