Enrichment Ski tripOn Wednesday 10th February, as part of their Enrichment Week, the whole of the LIV Form went to the Mendip Ski Centre in Bristol to ski, toboggan and learn basic bushcraft.

LVI captivated by Candle Ethics Conference in Oxford

Dr Peter VardyOn Friday 5th February, eight LVI students attended the Candle Ethics Conference in Oxford Town Hall - 'All You Need is Love' - which looked at the ethics of love. The keynote speaker was Dr Peter Vardy, a world-renowned speaker and scholar, formerly of Heythrop College, London. The conference was attended by our girls, along with approximately 400 students from other schools.

Girls put King John on Trial!

King Johns TrialOn Monday 8th February, LIV went back to 1215 to put King John on trial for crimes against his people! The girls first investigated his misdemeanours, using original sources and modern historians’ research. Once they had enough evidence, they split into two groups: one to form a case for the prosecution and one for the defence.

Girls turn their hand to presenting live on Heart Radio!

Heart Radio visitAll of MIV were granted exclusive access to studios and ‘backstage’ areas of Heart’s Swindon radio station on Tuesday 9th February, and some girls volunteered to take to the microphones to experience the role of the presenter in a live radio show!

Rudi OppenheimerHolocaust Memorial Day is commemorated every year on January 27th, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz by the Soviet Army in 1945. It was created to help us remember those who were victims of not just the Holocaust but also of subsequent genocides.
