OGA News
News Sheet 2008
The annual News Sheet of the OGA will be published in August 2008. We welcome contributions from all Old Girls – news, longer features and reports of year and group reunions. Contributions need to be received by 30 June 2008.
Please contact the News Sheet Editor, Sarah Carter (email: sarah.carter8@googlemail.com ) with any details.
OGA Executive Committee Vacancy
Would you like to become more involved in the Old Girls' Association?
We need a new Secretary for the OGA - Judy Graham has decided to stand down to pursue her other interests. The role is key to the OGA but is not too onerous – the Executive Committee meets three times a year in London; the Secretary's role includes sending out the agenda and taking the minutes. Other aspects include being one of those organising the AGM and Reunion each year, on-going liaison with the School, and being a friendly contact for Old Girls' queries. The Secretary will need to use email to communicate with other Committee members, with the School and increasingly with Old Girls.
For further information, please contact the current Secretary, Judy Graham (email: judygraham@macunlimited.wanadoo.co.uk).
Establishing a School Archive - How you can help!
An Old Girl, Elizabeth Christie (Harker) is assisting the School in creating a permanent School Archive, which will be open to Old Girls in the future. The Founders’ Day School history exhibition will form part of Elizabeth’s research. She would be grateful for any interesting items of memorabilia e.g. photos, documents or uniform, etc, that you might be willing to share. All items (unless donated) will be copied and returned safely to owners. Please send any items to Mrs Elizabeth Christie (Archivist) at St Mary’s School, Calne, SN11 0DF. Photos and documents may, if you would prefer, be sent by email to: foundation@stmaryscalne.org.
OGA Database Yellow Pages
The OGA Database Yellow Pages are published each year in the News Sheet. Their purpose is to make it possible for Old Girls to get in touch with others who may have services or advice to offer.
Like all directories the OGA Database is only of value if it is kept up to date, with existing entries kept current and new information being added constantly. This year we are making a special effort to expand and update the Database and would very much appreciate, if you have something you can offer to other Old Girls, if you would fill in the Database Information page available on the OGA Events page.
