On Tuesday (3/3/26) we were treated to a springtime feast of music from several of our music exam candidates, who were keen to give their pieces a public performance ahead of their exams.
Myra (piano) opened the concert with an exquisitely poised rendition of the Adagio from Bach’s Toccata in E Minor, before Poppy (voice) took to the stage with Lost in the Stars by Kurt Weill. Sophie (violin) then brought energy and flair to her performance of Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5, after which Heather (voice) delighted us with a beautiful performance of Twilight.
Elsa (piano) captivated the audience with Il Porco Rosso by Joe Hisaishi, before Kate (voice) brought the concert to a close with a sensitive and heartfelt performance of Sondheim’s famous Send in the Clowns.
The musical talent and warm, expressive communication shown by these wonderful musicians made for a truly delightful treat for the senses, and we wish them every success in their exams.
