‘Made in Calne’ at the Regional Final

  • Post category:General

Yesterday, eleven of us from ‘Made in Calne’ went to the Wills Memorial Building at Bristol University to take part in the South West Final.  We set up our trade fair to promote our cookbooks and answered the judges’ questions.  They were especially interested in what we had learned from the Young Enterprise programme.

Ella, Nicola, Tildy, Chella and Emily then gave a great presentation in the Great Hall – since winning the County Final they had changed the presentation to make it more visually appealing, they had improved the script and rehearsed over and over.  All the hard work paid off as they presented confidently and impressively.

The judges gave us good feedback for our presentation and our work over the year and it was great to talk to students from other schools about the excitements and challenges of the Company Programme.

The Young Enterprise has been hard work, but we have all developed a range of enterprise skills, like negotiating, working as a team and being creative. Also, we have learned how businesses work, not by being told about what they do, but by actually doing it for ourselves. Finally, we have really enjoyed working together and creating a product which we are really proud of.
