A Hirst-inspired Christmas Tree…

  • Post category:General

This years Christmas tree decorations were inspired by Damien Hirst; namely his spin paintings we had such fun recreating during Enrichment week. The brightly coloured ‘splats’ (as they’ve been known to be called) have been used to adorn the tree in the main entrance of the school. The effect is quite striking and the girls have enjoyed seeing their work put to a good use!

Meanwhile in the art school we have been rounding up for the Christmas break. Pottery and papercraft club have been busily making cards, gifts and decorations and many of the junior girls have now mastered the art of snowflake-making! The GCSE girls are hard at work finishing off their coursework and the A Level students are still ploughing on making the most of their studio spaces before the holidays. The Art students have had a very productive term and the studios are heaving with some outstanding pieces we look forward to sharing with you next term.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
