LIV Circus Trip

  • Post category:General

To kick start the term, the LIV were taken on an exciting excursion to The Gifford Circus in Marlborough. The show was a spectacle of vivid colour, music (from a toe-tappingly brilliant live band) and of course the performances from numerous acrobats, jugglers, tightrope-walkers and even a sketch with a bear tamer! The girls were invited into the circus ring at the end of the show for one final dance. There were smiles all round on the coach back to Calne; it was a great ice-breaker and helped to get the girls better acquainted with one another.

From an entertaining first lesson, the girls will now embark on a Chagall inspired circus project. They shall individually create a circus portrait based on one of the photographs taken from the trip. Initially their drawing skills will be tested with the introduction to invaluable skills such as learning enlargement techniques and drawing accurate anatomical details. Once completed, the portraits will be painted using Chagall’s fantastical palette as inspiration.

Overall, the trip was a lovely start to the year and we look forward to following the girls progress throughout the coming months.
