Impressive weekend of Lacrosse

  • Post category:Sport

On the sunny pitches of both Sherborne and Beversbrook, St Mary’s Lacrosse Teams were in full force at the County Tournament and 6 out of the 8 teams who played were unbeaten all day. The U13A’s and U14B’s both overcame their single opponents in fine style, beating Godolphin and Sherborne 19-2 and 15-2 respectively. The U14A’s beat both Sherborne and Godolphin to win the County Trophy from Godolphin. The U15B’s put on a dominant display winning both their games but it was the U15A’s who created the drama of the day, beating Godolphin for only the second time in their career but this time when it mattered regaining the County Cup. The 3rd’s, playing in the 2nd team tournament, finished 3rd out of the 6 teams which was a very impressive result. The 2nd’s won all their five games to bring back the trophy to Calne and the 1st’s, having drawn with Godolphin in the first match, had to replay them in the final. 3 all with two minutes to go, Godolphin stepped up and clinched it in the dying minutes!
