After brunch on Sunday 16th January, most of the LV (Year 10) participated in their first Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award expedition skills training day with Wild Country Consultants.
The girls covered a number of important skills including outdoor first aid, emergencies and team building tasks. They were also introduced to Trangia cooking stoves and menu planning as well as covering all the equipment they need to pack and carry with them. All the girls taking part now know how important their kit is - particularly a good pair of waterproof trousers and jacket, as well as walking boots with proper ankle support!
The winning team went back to house with a couple of boxes of chocolates - well done Team 5! All the girls learnt lots and are now ready for their Practice Expedition on Sunday 20th and Monday 21st March 2022. To accommodate the new date for the Lacrosse National Competition, the lacrosse players have an amended Practice Expedition - Sunday 20th March until 6pm, with further training on Sunday 24th April 2022.
