On the afternoon of December 14th, the LIV (Year 7) Choir visited Penn Court Residential Home for the much-anticipated annual Christmas Carol Singing.

Accompanied by their Choirmaster, Mr Dominic Joyce, the students sang a range of well-known carols, much to the delight of the residents. This was the choir’s second performance in public and they clearly really enjoyed the experience. Joining them was Charlie, a LVI (Year 12) student who has recently started her weekly volunteering placement at Penn Court. Once a week she visits and joins in with the ‘Knit and Natter Club'. She has fond memories of visiting Penn Court when she was in the Junior Choir and today performed a solo of Santa Baby to which the residents were tapping and humming along.

Whilst there, we took the opportunity to deliver some excess PPE that we are unable to use in school which was very gratefully received. Several of the LIV gifted some paper chains that they had made in House, along with a Christmas card.

Our thanks are extended to the residents for being such a wonderful audience and we look forward to returning in the New Year.
