As part of the preparation for the upcoming Lacrosse Tour to the USA, the team had a friendly fixture against Cheltenham Lacrosse Club. The students started nervously playing against more experienced players but soon found their rhythm and took possession with Honor (LV), Libby (LV) and Amy (UV) winning the draws, leading to lots of attacking opportunities for St Mary's Calne. The team scored three early goals - Lily (LVI) and Eloise (UV) working well from drives and feeds set up by Lucy (LVI) and Farley (LVI). The defence unit (Mary (LV), Ella (LV), Kitty (UV)) kept strong, denying the opposition from scoring. Great goalkeeping from Molly (LV) kept Cheltenham out until the last quarter before they managed to score their only goal of the game. A final score of 6-1 to St Mary's Calne showed how well the team can play together, with players having the opportunity to try different positions and with lots of positives to take into the upcoming tour.
