It's been a busy few weeks for our Sports Teams! Mr Abini shares his updates on some fantastic action in Cross Country and Lacrosse.

Cross Country
St Mary's runners competed in the Wiltshire County Cross Country Championships held at Sheldon School on 15th January, an event which welcomes runners from all areas of the county. The runners had to deal with cold weather and a muddy course, but competed well against strong competition. Congratulations to the following girls for competing in this event : Matilda and Bailee in the Junior Girls' Team and Honor in the Intermediate Girls' Team.

St Mary's Calne Cup
Also on the 15th, St Mary's hosted a packed day of lacrosse fixtures, with teams from every year group competing. Our teams faced competition from Cheltenham Ladies' College, Marlborough College, and Sherborne School for Girls. With games taking place at Beversbrook and on the school pitches, there was plenty of action to see. The school site saw some tremendous performances with the U12s and U13s securing good wins as well as the Senior 3rd and 4th teams. The action at Beversbrook also included super wins including the U14B Team having their hard work pay off against Marlborough College. There were also standout performances from the U15 Team and the Senior 2nds, winning all their games. The 1st Team faced tough competition, beating Cheltenham Ladies' College  and Sherborne but losing to a last minute goal from Marlborough. Out of a total of 15 games, St Mary's came away with a tremendous 13 wins overall. We look forward to hosting this annual competition next year!
