On 13th May, the MIV (Year 8) and the cast of the school's production of Flesh were treated to a night at the Bristol Hippodrome theatre to see the visually spectacular Matilda. The musical is based upon Roald Dahl's classic children's book, and features original music by Tim Minchin.
The play marries strong performances from its young cast with an outstanding display of tech to create a musical that feels thoroughly modern. The use of staging is creative and exciting - lots of the girls commented on the use of swings on stage in When I Grow Up as being their stand out moment.
A brilliant night was had by students and staff alike. Another wonderful evening at the theatre for St Mary's!
