On 4th June, the LV and LVI (Year 10 and 12) Drama students set off for Hammersmith's Lyric Theatre for the last theatre trip of the school year to see Kneehigh's terrific political play with songs, Dead Dog in a Suitcase

The play is a modern re-write of The Beggar's Opera, an 18th century play that tells the tale of Macheath, an assassin-for-hire who is brought down by his tangled love life. With its seamy backdrop of corruption and vice, tales of betrayal and temptation, spectacular and inventive sets and a physical, fast-moving approach, this was a totally intense theatrical experience with a political message that the girls all really responded to - and a great way to round off a varied programme of theatre visits this year!
