Year 7 girls in fine voice for Calne Spring Sing

Calne Spring SingSaturday 27th April saw the annual ‘Calne Spring Sing’ take place at various venues around the town. As the school’s contribution to this vibrant venture, we sent the LIV (Year 7) Choir to showcase some of their favourite repertoire from the past year.

Looking very smart indeed, the girls paraded down to Calne Free Church, where they began by singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables, bringing back fond memories of their prizewinning performance at last autumn’s Devizes Eisteddfod. This was followed by the more recently-performed medley of songs about insects and birds, which they prepared for the Spring Concert at the end of last term.

The girls gave a hearty performance and it was wonderful to be able to support such an inspirational community event right on our doorstep in this way. Thanks go to Mrs Fryar for accompanying the choir on the piano, and to the many parents and members of the local community who came along to support them, ahead of another busy schedule of afternoon fixtures.
