Top Pentathlon Performance by Lily at South West Combined Events

South West Combined EventsCongratulations to Lily (Year 9) who competed in the Pentathlon for Wiltshire at the South West Combined Events in Exeter on Sunday 23rd June. She finished in 17th place, with the County Team finishing in an impressive 2nd place.

Sports Day 2019Our annual Sports Day took place on Tuesday 18th June at Beversbrook Sports Facility in Calne and we were delighted to welcome the Calne Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Merrick, who presented the individual winners’ medals and enjoyed afternoon tea with the parents and staff.  The event had a great atmosphere, despite the persistent rain, and saw an increased spectator attendance to previous years.

Primary School Athletics Festival proves to be a hit!

Athletics FestivalOn Thursday 6th June our Year 10 Sports Leaders led a Primary Athletics Festival for Year 4 children at Beversbrook Sports Facility, with six local primary schools attending. 120 children took part in a range of fun and competitive athletics events and relays to conclude the afternoon.

The girls had a wonderful day of athletics at the Regional B Final of the Track & Field Cup in Basingstoke on 5th June. Some pleasing individual and team performances from our athletes enabled them to finish 2nd overall, an excellent result.

ESAA Track & Field Cup brings out the best in our Athletes

ESAA Track and FieldRound 1 of the ESAA Track & Field Cup took place on Wednesday, 8th May at the County Ground, Swindon. Despite the miserable weather, all athletes performed very well, with both teams finishing 2nd to South Wilts Grammar out of the seven schools.

Equestrians excel at Swalcliffe

Girls compete for England and Wales at the Lacrosse Home Internationals

Home InternationalsThe 2019 Home International Series was held at Aldershot Barracks on 5th - 7th April. The usual teams were joined this year by the guest nation, Germany. Caroline (Wales) faced Amelia and Ella (England) in the first match of the tournament; it was a tightly fought match and great to see Ella and Caroline battle out the draw against each other.

On the first weekend, we headed to Moreton for one of the first events of the eventing season; we got off to a flying start with all the girls putting in solid performances.

Lila selected to ride for GB in the Nations Cup

Lila Bremner Many congratulations to Lila Bremner (Year 11) and her pony Lappi on being selected to jump as an Individual for Great Britain in the Nations Cup at Opglabbeek in Belguim in April.  A fantastic achievement!

Great play at Condover Hall Netball Tour

netball at CondoverOn Friday 15th March, the U14 and U15 Netball Teams set off for the annual Netball Tour at Condover Hall in Shropshire. We stopped in Shrewsbury en route for some sight seeing and shopping, before eventually arriving at the magnificent Condover Hall.

St Mary's inaugural indoor sprint Triathlon raises funds for Macmillan Cancer Support

TriathlonOn Sunday 10th March 42 girls, teachers and parents gathered in the fantastic new Sports Centre to compete in the school's first ever indoor sprint triathlon. Girls from all years competed alongside their families and teachers in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Competitors and their supporters have thus far raised £1,900 for this wonderful charity, and the mood at the event was electric.
