All of the Fourth Form took part in an Inter-Company swim as part of Donaldson Week, with LIV & MIV (Years 7 & 8) competing on Monday and the UIV (Year 9) girls on Wednesday. The girls were very excited to have some competitive sport again and this created an excellent atmosphere within the pool, with girls not only cheering and supporting their Company, but also one another.

The LIV competed in four individual races, and the results were all very tight going into the relays, with Moberly just in the lead. The relays were worth double points, so it was all to swim for! Moberly took the 10 points in the Medley Relay with a 10-second lead, whilst Poore won the Freestyle Relay. Overall, the LIV swam excellently in their first competition, with Moberly taking 1st spot. A special mention must go to Florence, who swam superbly in the 25m Butterfly with a time of 16.28secs, beating the previous school record of 16.47secs, held since 2016.

The MIV competed in five individual events, starting off with the Individual Medley event. With four lengths to swim, one of each stroke, this was an exciting race to watch and all the girls finished within 20 seconds of one another, but Halia won it for Grosstete with 1m 33s. Sophia came 1st in the 25m Backcrawl (17.52s) and Butterfly (17.27s), Allison recorded 19.75s in the 25m Breaststroke and Christa 1st in the Front crawl with 17.15. The medley relay didn’t quite go as planned, with three teams being disqualified for early leavers. Therefore, Grosstete extended their lead by winning both the relay races, taking the trophy for MIV Swim.

Finally, Wednesday saw the UIV step up to the plate and compete. Each Company was split into an A and B Team, with the As swimming 50m and the Bs 25m in each event. The A Team races were all down to stamina, however, all of the B Team races were very closely fought. Hettie came out on top for the individual medley finishing in 1.26.40m. Arabella also swam well in the B Team competition, winning both her events confidently. Into the relays and Moberly came 1st with Poore closely behind in both A Team relays. The B Team relays saw Poore and Grosstete winning, with Moberly following closely in second place. Moberly had won both A and B competitions, taking the overall win for Fourth Form, with Poore just behind.
