On Sunday 13th June, the UVI (Year 13) lacrosse players endured the heat playing an intense lacrosse match against Radley College. The game was close, with the deadlock broken by a goal coming off the Radley goalie into his own goal; by half time it was 6-2 to Calne but Radley came back strong with their toughest team all out on pitch. We lost our lead and it was 8-6 to Radley with the last quarter to go. Although they excelled in speed and height, we had the skill of passing and working it around goal, creating an exciting last few minutes; we scored 2 more goals to end the match with a draw. The equalising goal coming from the ball being picked up after a save, allowing Polly to place it into the goal.

'It was a great Sunday afternoon, both teams came with aggression and determination as well as big squads, so plenty of subbing and fast runners rotated throughout the game. The play improved throughout the match as we got back into the swing of things, we loved coming together to play again for what seems like an age and I think we can all agree that we finished on a high!
