On 26th November, we took an Inter Cross Country Team to the Leweston School Relays. Each leg was 2.41 km in length, with a particularly muddy middle section. The team all ran brilliantly finishing 3rd overall amongst the stiff competition, with Lucy receiving a bronze medal for the third fastest lap.
This was the first time we had been invited to take part in the Leweston School Cross Country Relay competition and it proved to be an excellent and successful event for our Inter Girls' Team. It was a large meet with 75 teams competing across four age groups.
Lucy went out first and gave the team a very good start with a particularly fast lap of 9.58.01 minutes. Flora went off second and maintained the team position running in 10.59.98. Georgina then took the third leg, again running impressively in a time of 10.31.94 to keep the team in the top group. Caroline ran the final leg, putting in a captain's determined run with a time of 10.20.08. As all age groups were running together we were not entirely sure of the final positions, although we knew we had run well as a team.
Over hot chocolate, marshmallows and cake the team were awarded third place in the Inter Girls' competition receiving their medals from the Headmistress of Leweston. In addition, Lucy received a special award for the third fastest lap in the Inter Girls' competition. An outstanding performance from the whole team - well done!
