Girls complete Gold DofE Micro Navigation Day with flying colours

DofE MicronavigationOn Sunday 8th November some of the LVI spent the day fine tuning their mountain craft skills on their Micro Navigation Day for Gold DofE. They started the day walking to points on their map using hand rail features and pacing, as well as using contour line features to get within a couple of metres of the point.

Girls visit Institute of Education for Literature Conference

ShakespeareThe emagazine Literature Conference held at the Institute of Education, London on 20th October, had been highly anticipated by AS and A-Level St Mary’s girls. Despite the early morning start and long, jolting bus journey into the centre of London, the girls were soon alert to the panel of inspirational speakers who gave engaging and thought-provoking presentations on a variety of facets of English literature.
