Classics Trip to Athens Thirty six excited girls and staff set out for our tour to Greece in the early hours of 9th March. Our first visit was to the beautiful temple of Poseidon at Sounion. This is set in the most attractive cliff top position and certainly evoked the power Poseidon had over the sea.

Enriching experience at the Bath International Schools MUN Conference

MUN Kingswood SchoolThis term has seen the focus of MUN shift to preparation for the weekend-long Conference at Kingswood School in Bath (the 27th Bath International Schools Model United Nations Conference) on 3rd – 5th March, 2017. This well-established event attracts delegations from both home and abroad and is typically attended by upwards of 600 delegates. This year (our first) St Mary’s attended with two delegations of four girls representing Chad and Oman.

They chose 'A Mexican Night,' so costumes were bright and colourful with a substantial number of girls choosing to show their disapproval of Donald Trump's intentions, dressing as a Mexican Wall!

Girls compete in National CyberFirst Challenge

National CyberFirst ChallengeIn the week commencing 27th February, 15 students from UIV and LV are competing in the online round of the National CyberFirst Challenge. This new competition has been developed by the National Cyber Security Centre and it is designed to open up and introduce talented students to the possibilities of a career in cyber security. In the UK currently only 10% of those working in cyber security are women.

Confident performances at the Latin Reading Competition
