On Saturday 10th June, a group of 43 excited girls and five staff set off for Rouen, where we would spend the next six days immersing ourselves in French life with host families, activities, lessons and excursions. We had the most beautiful weather while we were in France, and took every opportunity to enjoy the sunshine - we had an informative tour of the city of Rouen, a boat trip, a visit to a food market and lunch outside in the grounds of a beautiful abbey - to name but a few of the experiences.

Particular highlights included the cookery lessons, where the girls made Macaroons, Viennoiseries and Choux à la Crème; our visit to Bayeux where we saw the Tapestry (an amazing accomplishment that never fails to impress, even when you have seen it before many times!); exploring the markets and eating our lunch in the grounds of the impressive Cathedral and our fascinating and thought-provoking trip to Arromanches and the D-Day landing beaches.

Many thanks to all the staff who came on the trip and helped to make it a memorable occasion for all concerned.
