Help4Refugees Charity Event

At the start of the Summer Term, the LVI Form were given a talk by an inspiring man called Jordan Hattar. Over the past few months, Jordan has been flying around the world, speaking to students about the five years he spent helping Syrian refugees on the Syrian-Jordan border.

Having heard Jordan speak, we all left the room feeling motivated and inspired.  We were moved by his words and we thought amongst ourselves as to whether there was something we could do to help these refugees. After evenings of brainstorming, we decided it would be a good idea to have a fundraising event in school, in support of Jordan’s charity, Help4Refugees.  We are pleased to say that Help4Refugees will become the new school charity.

The Journey to a Home will be an enjoyable event, full of music, art and readings and it will take place on evening of Saturday 23rd September at schoolWe are also lucky to have Jordan returning to share his experiences with us. We had a pick n’ mix sale recently in school which was a great success, however, we feel that there is so much more that we can do - hence why we have decided to hold this event. We strongly believe that having this event will be a great way to start the new academic year, and our donations will impact the lives of many.

A formal invitation will be sent out shortly to staff and pupils, which will include information on how to buy a ticket.
