Girls go for Gold on their final DofE Practice and Expedition

The LVI girls (now UVI) finished the Summer Term with their Gold DofE Practice, setting off to the Brecon Beacons on Monday 3rd July.

The three teams were ready for the challenge and left the small car park north of Abergavenny in a confident mood. The mountains were bigger than they had experienced on DofE before but they tackled them with determination. Mountain navigation was another challenge which they had a number of attempts to conquer!

The girls returned early for the start of this new academic year, to travel up to the Yorkshire Dales, now in UVI Form, to complete their Final Expedition. The sun shone for them for the four days and the teams completed their routes with no detours, so a 100% improvement on their Practice.  They were all pleased to finish at Settle after a long and tiring expedition. Well done to all the girls involved.
