Russian RevolutionMonday 15th January saw the Sixth Form Historians venturing out on a dark and cold evening to Dauntsey’s school. We were going to a lecture by Dr Matthew Rendle, a Historian from the University of Exeter on Reflections of the Revolutions of 1917, which was focused on the commemoration of the Russian Revolutions of 1917.

Blending History and Politics, Dr Rendle discussed why the Russian Revolutions have had very little official commemoration from the Kremlin, with the main focus being on the lessons that can be learned from this period. It was a fascinating insight into the use of History by politicians and their priorities.
