Continuing with the exploration of colour as a theme, Mrs Haydon, Head of Science, and the science technician team gave the third Calne annual Primary School Science Lecture at St Margaret’s Southwell Hall on 13th March.

The event was attended by 50 pupils from Years 5 and 6 at St Margaret’s Preparatory School, as well as another 80 from Fynamore and Heddington Primary Schools. In addition to the content of the chapel talk given at St Mary’s this week, the children learnt about how we see colour, colour saturation, how a TV screen and glo sticks work and a few lucky volunteers got to try out the UV make up. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event with some excellent and stretching questions asked at the end.
