Girls help to make Calne blooming beautiful

Today (6th June), all the Year 7 girls were accompanied into Calne to plant up the flower planters with the local Town Council, as part of the 'Calne in Bloom' competition (to be judged on 10th July).

For some of the girls this was a new experience and they all enjoyed trying to arrange the trailing plants and flowers creatively, with different colour designs.

The school has been supporting this activity for many years and the pupils take pride in helping to make the town bright and beautiful, in time for the local Calne Summer Festival & Carnival and, of course, our own Founders' Day, when the whole school can appreciate the flowers as they make their way to St Mary's Church in Calne.

Calne has won Gold for the last four years in the South West in Bloom competition - hopefully the girls will have contributed towards a fifth win!
