It was a real delight to welcome back five recent alumnae on 7th September to talk to the Sixth Form about their experiences of life at university.

A diverse range of courses and universities (Oxford, Birmingham, Durham, Warwick and York) were represented, yet the messages from each had much in common. It is particularly timely for the UVI (Year 13) girls, as they are currently working hard on getting their university applications completed. Our Old Girls offered salient advice on how to choose courses, how to ensure you write an interesting personal statement and what you need to think about when choosing between your university offers - everything from accommodation, to getting involved in clubs and societies as well as contact time. It certainly prompted lots of follow-up discussion back in House. They reassured the girls that they were in safe hands and that St Mary's will have equipped them with all of the skills needed to enjoy university life.
