On Thursday 2nd December, Honor and Georgie (LV - Year 10) and Tilly (UV - Year 11) took part in this year's English-Speaking Union's prestigious Public Speaking Competition, with a passionate and articulate speech from Tilly on whether 'Cathedrals are inappropriate settings for fashion shows or fairground rides'.
Standards were incredibly high and, despite a sterling performance, the girls did not make the next round. We look forward to trying again next year and would like to thank the girls for all the effort and dedication in representing St Mary's Calne in public speaking again and for their participation in the ESU competition for the first time.
