LIV (Year 7) Mandarin learners have been celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival this week.

The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. During this festival, people across Asia, and especially Central and Southern China, gather to watch dragon-shaped boats race along riverbanks and lakes.

The Dragon Boat Festival is also known as the holiday which honours the tragic death of a famous ancient poet, Qu Yuan.
