On 27th June, St Mary’s held its first LVI (Year 12) New Girls’ Day to welcome students joining Florence Dyas House in September.
The event began in the Oratory with a warm welcome to the girls and their parents from Dr Kirk followed by Ms Holloway’s potted guide to life in the Sixth Form. We adjourned to Florence Dyas House for refreshments in 'Flo’s Bar' and Mrs McMahon’s introduction to the Sixth Form experience in Florence Dyas House. The new girls were joined by their LVI mentors (thank you to Sophie, Hannah, Juliette, Farley and Nancy!) and some Tutors and UV (Year 11) buddies also came, along with the Florence Dyas House team.
Mrs Davies was there to offer a parent's perspective and the PGSM Reps provided an insight into the work which they do. There was also a tour of the school and a buffet lunch back in House, rounded off with a long chat over coffee and cake in the common room.
