The Confirmation Service took place last Saturday in the Parish Church. It was a wonderful occasion full of joy and warmth - despite the weather outside!
Nineteen girls were confirmed by Rt Rev Dr Andrew Rumsey, the Bishop of Ramsbury. Earlier, they had enjoyed a special breakfast with him at school. The service itself was rich in symbolism and meaning. The Bishop spoke with humour and wisdom, reflecting on Jesus turning water into wine at the wedding banquet at Cana of Galilee and reminding the candidates of how they could rely on Christ even when everything else gave out.
The Chamber Choir provided some lovely music, performing Rutter’s I Will Sing With the Spirit and the traditional Celtic song, The Parting Glass. After the service, there was a reception back at school for the families and friends of the candidates. One parent commented, 'What a truly fabulous, unforgettable event to mark such a special occasion.'
