On Sunday 15th January, pupils from LVI and UVI attended day 2 of the Level 1 Tennis Coaching course. The forecast for the day was sun, sun and more sun. In reality, we had rain, rain and more rain! This didn’t dampen the mood, however, so we got to work and started ticking off the remaining modules.

Our pupils had the opportunity to deliver their first LTA Youth tennis lessons as part of their on-court assessment with each pupil delivering a different stage of a full tennis lesson. Later in the day, we completed a tournament module which provides successful coaches with an additional Tournament Organiser qualification.

Once all the online modules have been successfully completed and submitted, our pupils will have a well earnt qualification that allows them to assist on any tennis programme in the country, whether that be at a local tennis club or working on a university programme once they move on from St Mary’s.

Well done to all pupils that signed up and had the courage to try and obtain this qualification. We hope you enjoyed the experience and will put the skills that you have learnt into practice in the years ahead.
