Earlier this year girls from the UV (Year 11) and LVI (Year 12) entered the Oxford German Olympiad competition.

This year Tessa (UV) wrote a short graphic novel in German telling the story of Sophie Scholl, who is an iconic figure in Germany, but not widely known outside her native country. This year commemorated the 100th anniversary of the birth of this incredible young woman who famously stood up to Adolf Hitler and was part of the ‘White Rose’ resistance. Her story is extraordinary and she remains an inspiration to many up to this day. Tessa was awarded runner-up in this very competitive category.

Lydia (LVI) planned a conference for 16-18 year olds on the environmental topic of ‘Alpentourismus vs Naturschutz’, including the advertisement and programme with keynote lectures and topics for roundtable discussion. She was highly commended for her entry amongst stiff competition.

Well done girls! We are very proud of your achievements.
