The UK Government published its guidance on 2 July for the full opening of schools in September and it is hopefully reassuring to you that the guidance states, 'Given the improved position, the balance of risk is now overwhelmingly in favour of children returning to school. For the vast majority of children, the benefits of being back in school far outweigh the very low risk from coronavirus (COVID-19)'.

The safe return to school of all our pupils in September is clearly a priority and we have a very detailed plan in place which we will continue to work on and adapt over the summer to ensure it meets the evolving regulations. The health, safety and well-being of our community are at the forefront of all our plans.

Our Risk Assessment is available to view here so that all members of the School Community are fully informed about the measures we have in place. All measures are, of course, in line with the Boarding Schools’ Association Covid-safe Charter.

The FAQ section of the Parent Portal has been updated and will be updated again in mid-August to keep you informed about our plans for September.

Research suggests that children are less likely than adults to catch the virus, pass it on or fall seriously ill because of it. Returning to school is vital for children’s education and well-being and the measures we are putting in place minimise risk. We are really looking forward to having the girls back on site in September.
