Weekend trip to TreeRunners

Weekends are an essential part of the boarding experience, and all day pupils are encouraged to take part in what is going on. After lessons on Saturday mornings, girls have the choice of an impressive range of activities. As well as Fourth Form Games Afternoon, matches and rehearsals, they go on House outings and enjoy the school facilities, which are all open at the weekend.

Jane Austen Museum in Bath

Weekend outings are many and varied and have included: ice skating, go karting, bowling, horse riding, cinema and theatre trips, punting in Oxford, pottery making, craft activities, cookery workshops, pamper parties, trips to the zoo and hawk conservatory, socials with other schools, Company events (such as 'It's a Knockout') charity initiatives, DofE expeditions and exploring the local area, with cultural visits organised to Marlborough, Bath, Oxford and other nearby towns.

Social with Eton College

From MIV Form, the girls enjoy socials with a variety of boys' schools and we have very good relationships with Eton, Radley, Winchester and Horris Hill. Socials and events have included: MIV dinner, dance and quiz with Horris Hill; U15 tennis tournaments with Eton College; the Chamber Choir singing a joint Evensong with Eton College, while the Sixth Form girls have enjoyed Caledonian Balls at Radley College, fundraising evenings at Eton College, and dinners and dancing with boys from Winchester College and Abingdon School.

Having fun at the Marlborough Mop

The girls' suggestions for weekend activities are also welcomed. In addition to the trips and activities run for all year groups, girls can relax with their friends, for example in House, in the Art Studio, on the tennis courts or in our indoor swimming pool.

The girls really enjoy the weekends with their friends:

“My favourite memory is when we all went to the Marlborough Mop and we went on lots of rides and had so much fun. These are going to be the best seven years of your life!"

Freedog Trampoline Park

“I loved St Prisca's, it was the best boarding House ever! When I first came my dorm mates were so excited - they made me feel so welcome - and the weekend activities are so good!"

Parents of girls at St Mary's are able to view all of the weekend activities and photos from the weekend in the Information section of MSP.

The Latest News section of the website also showcases weekend (and weekly) activities.
