Information for agents

Our Admissions Team works with a network of UK and international agents to support families considering, or already in the process of, applying to St Mary’s Calne. Friendly, responsive and dedicated, our team is here to assist both you and your clients every step of the way.

As a full boarding school for girls, St Mary’s Calne is a popular choice for both families based in the UK and overseas.

Supporting international families

We know that applying from overseas can be more challenging, but our Admissions Team is very experienced and can provide additional help to families and agents to support you through the process.

Before applying we encourage agents to contact us to discuss your family’s requirements. We suggest families visit us and we are happy for agents to accompany them.

Before a formal application, it can be a good idea to share a UKiset report if English isn’t the child’s first language, a recent school report, and a copy of her passport. Once pre-registration is successful, you’ll be asked to complete out online registration form.

We have an admissions booklet to guide families through the application process. We have a specialist partner company we work with for families requiring a UK visa.

Our pupils achieve excellent exam results, with a full weekend programme living in comfortable and supportive boarding houses. Around 80% of our pupils board and around 20% of our girls are international, with a balance of students from across the globe

When to join and apply

When to join

Most pupils join aged 11 or 13 and we are able to accept a small number of overseas pupils into our Sixth Form aged 16. We also offer limited boarding for younger pupils into Year 5 and 6 (aged 9 to 11), who go to school at St Margaret’s, our prep school which shares our site, boarding in our Lower School House, St Prisca’s.

When to apply

Typically, parents apply for a place one to three years in advance but we are happy to speak to agents and families on shorter timescales and we can discussion options for families who want to make a mid-year move, if we have space and it’s in the best interests of the applicant, her family and our school community.

We encourage agents to contact us to learn more.
