Lower School pupils embrace every challenge on their end-of-year residentials

Our Lower School pupils were full of enthusiasm and curiosity, embracing every opportunity on their end-of-year residentials (LIV – Mon/Tues, MIV – Tues/Wed) at PGL Liddington.

From rock climbing and archery to the giant swing, they showed courage and determination throughout. Teamwork was put to the test in an outdoor survivor-style challenge, with everyone working together to overcome obstacles.

Pupils represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating kindness and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

Here, Jemimah K-U, Heather L and Rithanna F (all MIV) share some of their favourite moments:

What was your favourite activity, and why?

‘My favourite activity was the giant swing because it was an activity you could do with other friends and the fall at the beginning made it extremely fun and exciting rather than boring.’ (JK-U)

What did you love most about the residential, and why?

‘I loved when we had free time to play ball games in a massive group and have conversations and enjoy each other’s presence.’ (JK-U)

‘What I loved most about the residential was the atmosphere in the groups and how everyone was so excited for anything and everything, even in the rain!’ (HL)

Do you have a packing tip to share?

‘Always have a packing list and tick everything off as you pack, make sure to fold everything neatly because it makes it easier to fit necessary items.’ (JK-U)

Did the teachers or instructors do anything memorable?

We had a silent disco just before heading to bed and the teachers dancing along with us was quite memorable and funny. (JK-U)

‘My favourite memory? When the instructor joked,’what’s Michael Jackson’s favourite drink? Teahee!’ (HL)

What will be your lasting memory about the residential?

‘When we first arrived, we had to wait for quite some time before starting our activities. People told jokes, played games and had conversations with each other which is a memory I will never forget.’ (JK-U)

‘One of the memories I will take away from our residential is participating in the tricky activities, like the climbing and the trapeze, and having my friends cheer me to keep going.’ (RF)
