Summer Term Girl Guiding adventures – part one

4th Calne (St Mary’s Calne) Guides and Rangers have had another busy and varied term as we head into the summer months.

The girls planned the term’s activities themselves (with some guidance) and have taken part in a range of activities, including making bird feeders from orange halves, learning to use a hacksaw (for the Rangers – the older girls), fire lighting, and putting up tents ahead of camp. They have also had the chance to play games and simply have fun.

Watch this space for Part Two, as we are heading off on camp with the other Guide unit in the District during Half Term.

The LVI volunteers have continued to support units within the community, and I was particularly proud of two girls who chose to make their Promise this term whilst helping at 2nd Calne Rainbows: Tabitha, aka Lavender, and Livvy, aka Hazel. They have been an incredible support to the unit, as have the other LVI girls volunteering as Young Leaders at units across Calne and Derry Hill.
