Congratulations to our Young Enterprise team, Inkspiring, on winning two major awards at the South West regional finals in Taunton this week (5/5/26), following their success at the Wiltshire County finals.
Inspired by the UK National Year of Reading, the Young Enterprise team created a reading journal and book review website page – Inkspiring – to encourage 10 to 18 year-olds to pick up a book in a world of screens.
Company Director of Inkspiring, Coco B (LVI), said of their day at the South West final:
‘We had such an inspiring day, filled with two rounds of judging, where our team worked together to answer a range of challenging questions and promote our company to a variety of judges. Along with this, a group of us delivered a short presentation pitch in front of the judges and rest of the competition. We also had the opportunity to take part in a CV workshop with a guest speaker that was super insightful and will be useful as we start our university application process.
As a whole we came back with two prizes, Best Company Finances and Best Technology, a great reflection of all our continued hard work over the course of the past few months since our last competition, as well as our total dedication into Inkspiring over the course of the past eight months. In reflection, the whole day was an amazing experience where we could showcase our company Infront of a wide range of people and a great opportunity to develop our entrepreneurial skills, public speaking and network with a wide range of young enterprise experts.
Mr Poole, Head of Economics and lead co-ordinator of the Young Enterprise competition, added: ‘I’m immensely proud of Inkspiring’s achievements in the Young Enterprise Company Programme this year, not only winning the Wiltshire County competition but also picking up two prizes against very stiff competition in the South West final. They have been extremely well led, hugely motivated and have shown great team spirit to overcome the inevitable challenges of running a business. Next year’s YE team has a very tough act to follow.’
