Pupils experience academic challenge, personal growth and opportunities to shine

year 10 and 11 curriculum

A core curriculum with room to explore

Pupils follow a core curriculum comprising English language, English literature, mathematics, a modern foreign language, religious studies and either a triple or double award science. Each course leads to a GCSE or IGCSE qualification.

Alongside the core curriculum, pupils choose additional subjects from a wide range including art, drama, music, history, geography, religious studies, Latin, computer science and a second modern foreign language. This enables each pupil to pursue an academic pathway that reflects her personal strengths and passions.

Tailored pathways & digital skills

Pupils are set in mathematics, modern foreign languages, Latin and the sciences to ensure the right level of challenge and support. These sets are reviewed regularly, giving girls the flexibility to move as their confidence grows and their skills develop further.

For those not studying computer science at GCSE, a digital literacy programme develops practical skills and knowledge of eSafety, while also exploring the role of Generative AI – such as Microsoft Copilot – in education and the workplace.

Support and success and wellbeing

As pupils approach examinations, they are supported in developing strong study habits, effective time management and personal wellbeing strategies. This balanced approach builds resilience and ensures each girl feels prepared and positive about the future.

Pastoral care is a central part of school life, with teachers and tutors offering reassurance and encouragement at every stage. This support helps girls to approach challenges with confidence and to take the next step in their academic journey.
