As a part of this year’s Songwriting Competition, our students were treated to a visit from internationally renowned singer songwriter Georgina Callaghan. Georgina is well-known in America and regularly performs to sell out concerts in stadiums and large venues. She is a regular recording artist and can often be heard on BBC Radio 2.

The students were inspired by her workshop and busily set to composing songs to submit for the competition. There was a very strong field and Georgina kindly offered to help judge the final submissions, of which she was impressed by the quality of the work.
We are very pleased to announce that Teyla B (UIV) has been awarded first place with her song Two Girls in the Rain with runners up from Isobel B (UV) and her song Costume Feathers and Morolayo A with her song Rewind (UV).
Congratulations to all involved and especially for Teyla whose winning entry can be heard on Founder’s Day in the music marquee during the concert at 2.30pm
